These videos are of female elected officials providing frank answers to questions regarding women in politics at a forum in Los Altos back in March. I feel they provide a fitting introduction to the project I am going to take this opportunity to announce.

Many of our readers have been asking me about my transition from blogger-to-Webmistress and why I haven’t been posting lately, only commenting. Well, it’s been a matter or left brain versus right since I redesigned the site. My mind was stuck in the world of cold, hard, coded, logical programming, and my muse was on vacation.

Well, she’s back! I’m happy to announce that between now and the general election, I will be focusing on the female candidates in the current races as well as gender-equality-friendly male candidates and their wives and families (here’s looking at you Heather Pritchard!) running for office in Orange County. Some will be interviewed, some will not, but I will attempt to put together profiles on these candidates that both men and women can relate to.

Of course, I’ll also be pushing my usual centrist agenda in other areas as well, but since gender-related politics stand so much to gain this election cycle as more and more women get involved and the blogosphere’s glass ceiling is being shattered, it will probably be my main focus.

Feel free to use this post as an open thread on the subject and as more articles pertaining to it appear on the site, we will gather them all up and link them here. Let’s have a constructive dialog and put our money where our keyboards are when it comes to equality for women and indeed all underrepresented groups.
