I’m so sick of Rebecca Freakin’ Shoenkopf experimenting on other people’s dimes, especially since I’ve been having trouble finding a paid writing gig I don’t feel I have to sell my soul for. The Red County Story in particular stuck out like a sore thumb on OJ’s RSS Feed because I saw the LA Observed story last night and decided not to comment on it, but now that others are covering the story I guess I’ll say this: this endeavor will fail like everything else Rebecca has touched since rudely and abruptly ‘leaving’ the Weekly.
Steve Lowery has volunteered to provide material as part of the new deal, so once again he comes to her rescue while she’s in way over her head (as pointed out by an article on LAist), not to mention that the LA Observed article that broke the story of the ‘Commie Girl’ column’s return says that the ‘new’ material will consist of “national stories with a personal and profane touch.”
Gee, that sounds a lot like someone else’s forte too… a woman I know very well who recently whooped Commie Tool’s ass all over the internet until she ran back to Steve to go down with the sinking ship that is L.A. Citybeat. I don’t think I need to name names.
Lowery was smart enough to leave, but she keeps me amused at the moment, so I actually hope ‘Bigot Girl‘ stays until she bankrupts her new employers. Somehow I don’t think a cost increase for a ‘Commie GIrl Magazine‘ is what they had planned when they hired Steve to run their fledgling newspaper. Below is a representation of Ms. Shoenkopf’s career. Those overboard are the readers and advertisers, except for the man and his blowup doll. They, of course, represent Steve and Rebecca.

PS: Rebecca still has not answered a challenge I sent her three days ago to appear on a new reality show that features the use of boxing and then therapy to settle disputes. Somehow, I’m not surprised. Chickenshit. 😛
