‘You didn’t build that…’

President Obama: ‘You didn’t build that…’

I’m sorry, but all of these things in this photo are regulated by government, not owned or invented by it, and paid for with OUR tax dollars, collectively and individually. The only way you could give government direct credit would be to deny that we the people collectively give the government both its authority and its funding, including this man.

That means that he pays corporations for services and the government to regulate them, excepting police services which serve the PUBLIC trust as much as the individual. And as a small business owner, he’s paid more than the average individual to support his business. It wasn’t given to him free-of-charge. Therefore, he didn’t receive ‘assistance’ in building it. He built it, in part, by paying his bills.

The only businesses getting handouts from the government aren’t the small ones, but the megacorps, under the ‘too big to fail’ doctrine. And sure, megacorps aren’t built by the government either, but they’re inevitably the ones that suck the most welfare dollars out of us when they start to fall apart. So why make a hard-working small business person feel guilty about their success?

It’s just sad that we reward huge international failures, but try to shame small business owners for being successful. What is this country coming to? Don’t even get me started on how the left first claimed Obama was misquoted, but now they circulate memes like this around the internet in defense of his statements. So, which is it?!

Oh and one more thing: the government doesn’t print your money. That responsibility goes to the Federal Reserve, a privately-held bank which has had it since Breton Woods in 1913.  But yeah, none of us ever built anything. It was all the omnipresent gov’ment. You’re welcome.
